DCD Angel Guts The Nikkatsu Series

The five films in the ANGEL GUTS series are based on a 1970s manga by Ishii Takashi. A brutal, graphic commentary on the mechanics of rape, rape fantasy, and the victimization of women from the perspective of both aggressor and female victim, the central character--and perennial victim--of each is a young girl called Nami. With various directors orchestrating the action, the films aim to take a feminist stance in depicting various manifestations of sexual violence. They maintain, however, a level of overt ruthlessness and savagery rarely seen on film, relegating the series to the peripheral designations of erotic horror and art-house cinema. Included in the collection are HIGH SCHOOL CO-ED, RED CLASSROOM, NAMI, RED PORNO, and RED VERTIGO.
