HIS HANDS BRING DEATH. HIS TEARS BETRAY A SOUL.Yo Hinomura is the Crying Freeman – a near-perfect killer in the service of the powerful 108 Dragons. Precise, silent and deadly, he fulfills every assignment. But after each murder, tears flow down his face: the last visible remnant of a man who was taken away from his freedom and his past. When the young artist Emu O’Hara happens to be a witness to one of his assassinations, she too would have to die. But something is happening that is not provided for in the merciless world of the Freeman. Between killer and witness, a connection arises that becomes stronger than fear, duty and obedience. Suddenly, Yo is no longer just facing his enemies – but also of the organization that made him what he is. Mark Dacascos and Julie Condra lead Christophe Gans’s visually powerful adaptation of the cult mangas of Kazuo Koike and Ryoichi Ikegami – an extraordinary mixture of martial arts action, gangster epic, tragic love history and A love without a future. And tears that even death cannot silence.
